What are credits?
Credits pay for two things: Agenta's included models, and runtime, the time your agents run. Each plan includes credits. The Plans and credits page lists what each thing costs.
How many credits does each plan include?
Every plan gets 75 free credits a day, on up to 10 days a month. Starter adds 2,900 credits a month, and Business adds 32,000 credits a month. New organizations also get 500 bonus credits when they sign up.
How many credits does a task use?
It depends on the model, how much the agent reads and writes, and how long it runs. A short task, such as summarizing a page, uses about 3 credits. One hour of runtime uses about 50 credits, plus the model use. The Plans and credits page has more examples.
Do I pay when I use my own API key or my ChatGPT subscription?
The model costs no credits. Runtime still uses credits, because your agent still runs on Agenta. Every plan can use your own API key or ChatGPT subscription.
Do unused credits roll over?
No. Daily credits expire at the end of the day (midnight UTC), and monthly credits expire at the end of the billing period.
What happens when I run out of credits?
There are no overage charges. Tasks that are already running finish. New tasks do not start until you have credits again. This includes agents that use your own API key, because runtime uses credits. Daily credits come back the next day, on up to 10 days a month. On Starter and Business, you can also buy more credits or upgrade.
Do team members share credits?
Yes. Credits belong to the organization, and everyone in it draws from the same balance. There is no per-seat price.
Can I buy more credits?
Yes, on Starter and Business. 1,000 credits cost $10, 2,500 credits cost $25, and 10,000 credits cost $100.
How many tasks can run at once?
Hobby runs 2 concurrent tasks, Starter runs 20, and Business runs 50. A task is one agent turn: from your message until the agent finishes answering. The Plans and credits page says how long a task can run on each plan.
Are users, projects, agents, and automations really unlimited?
Yes, on Starter, Business, and Enterprise, and on both self-hosted plans. Invite as many team members as you need and create as many projects, agents, automations, schedules, and triggers as you want. Hobby includes 2 team members and 1 project. You pay for credits, not for seats, projects, or agents.
Will my agent act without my approval?
Only where you allow it. Tool permissions decide which actions an agent takes on its own and which wait for your approval. Set a default for each agent, change it for single tools, and approve or deny actions while the agent runs. See Control what an agent can do.
Which models are included?
Agenta's included models are Gemini 3.7 Flash, Gemini 3.8 Flash, and Gemini 4 Argon. They use credits, so you need no API key to start.
Which model providers can I use?
Connect OpenAI, Anthropic, Google Gemini, Mistral AI, xAI, Groq, Cohere, Perplexity AI, DeepInfra, Together AI, Anyscale, MiniMax, or OpenRouter with an API key. You can also connect AWS Bedrock, Azure OpenAI, Google Vertex AI, or any OpenAI-compatible endpoint, or sign in with your ChatGPT subscription.
Can I switch plans or cancel at any time?
Yes. Upgrade, downgrade, or cancel from Settings, then Usage & Billing.
What happens if I cancel?
Your organization keeps its data and moves to Hobby at the end of the billing period. Members beyond the Hobby limit of 2 are removed.
How do I get an invoice?
Open Settings, then Usage & Billing, then Open billing portal. The billing portal lists your invoices and payment methods.
Do you use my data to train AI models?
No. Agenta does not use your prompts or data to train AI models.
Where can I see my credits?
Open Settings, then Credits to see your balance and what used your credits. Open Settings, then Usage & Billing to see your plan.
What is the difference between Agenta Cloud and self-hosted Agenta?
Agenta Cloud is operated by us. We run the application, storage, agent runner, upgrades, and backups. With self-hosted Agenta, you deploy and operate those components in your own infrastructure, connect your own model and integration accounts, and control where your data is stored.
What is included in the free open-source edition?
The open-source edition includes the core agent workspace: chat, projects, agent configuration, instructions, skills, tools, integrations, MCP servers, files, schedules, event triggers, run logs, evaluations, version history, role-based access control, and SSO. You can create unlimited users, projects, agents, and automations on your own infrastructure.
Why pay for Enterprise if Agenta is open source?
Enterprise adds audit logs, custom domains, deployment and upgrade support, priority support, a private Slack Connect channel, dedicated support, and a custom service-level agreement. The open-source edition remains free for teams that can operate it themselves and do not need those commercial features or services.
Do you offer discounts for startups, students, or researchers?
